Construction Primers

The final result of painting depends on a number of factors. Besides the quality of the paint and its cover capacity, the base which is painted is of a decisive importance – its state and preparation. Not all surfaces are suitable for painting. Depending on their specifics, they should be professionally prepared for the laying of the paint.

The appropriate priming determines the optics and the quality of the painted surface. Quite often it is not taken as seriously as the painting itself. This, however, is a gross blunder. Each surface could be as good as its priming.

Priming performs a number of different functions. On the first place, it improves the adhesion of the laid cover to the base. The primer penetrates deeply into the base and strengthens it permanently. It levels its absorption capacity and decreases the consumption of then paint in the following operations. It protects the base and contributes to its durability.

The prerequisite for the secure laying of the different types of lining and pavements is the lack of any problems created by the base. Priming is an obligatory stage of the process of preparation of the base. The different types of primers have one main function – to reinforce the base and prevent its damaging. Another important function is the reduction and the homogenization of the absorption of the next material – no matter if it is paint, plaster, coat or an adhesive. The final result is the provision of strong links between the base and the next layer.

The facade primers are preliminarily colored in the color of the laid paint and provide a color base which prevents the occurrence of color differences and dark spots on the facade. They preserve the ability of the wall to „breathe“, ensure its water impermeability and improve the adhesion of the finishing cover to the base.
